Paris Train Network Attack Disrupts Olympic Preparations: Security Concerns Rise

Just 10 hours before the Olympic Games opening ceremony, an attack occurred on the train network in Paris at around 5:15 AM on Friday. Several railway lines were vandalized, and wires were set on fire. The identity and motive of the attackers remain unknown. The French National Railway Company, SNCF, stated that several trains to and from Paris were canceled within half an hour of the attack, with many others delayed by up to an hour and a half. This incident has affected approximately 250,000 passengers, with potential impacts on around 800,000 more over the next day. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal called the attack a deliberate attempt to disrupt the Olympics. The Sports News in Hindi | Naya India reported that 10,500 athletes from 206 countries are participating in the event, including 117 athletes from India. Attal stated that the attackers targeted key sites of the railway system, indicating detailed knowledge of the network.
